The first group discussion was fascinating; a mix of various individuals with different teaching contexts/practices, creative practices and identities, and perspectives on life and its interconnectivity with pedagogy.
Within the group, each individual had to present a 5 minute presentation about their teaching context and other professional/creative identities. It was interesting to see that most (if not all) of my peers teach and have been doing so; a mix of lecturers and technicians. I, however, come in with my business and entrepreneurial experience, which somehow has linked with my way of pedagogy. Thus, it was rather fascinating to see others’ experiences and practices and compare it with mine. Though, it must be noted that my professional identity is not just that of business and entrepreneurship, but also of a creative background and identity.
The conversations and discussions regarding the required reading was certainly fascinating; hearing various opinions and perspectives really provided me with a further understanding on my fellow peers’ critical thinking and methods. Likewise, it allowed me to view from a microscopic lens of how my methods and critical and constructive thinking might differ or perhaps be similar to others.
It’s all very interesting, to say the least.
Anyway, bye for now.
