A new adventure begins. The first day and introductory lecture of the PgCert course. As exciting as it is, I would be amiss if I didn’t admit it feels rather odd being a “student” again – though this studentship is blended with the duties of being an Associate Lecturer. It’s been quite some years since I graduated from UAL and it certainly feels strange to be back, albeit virtually, but a warm feeling at the same time.
The intro lecture was insightful, lengthy to an extent, but informative nonetheless. The topics and issues presented by the speakers resonated, particularly that of Victoria Odeniyi’s presentation of Reimagining Conversations (2021); her research into the multilingual experience at UAL. As a bilingual individual myself, I was particularly engaged with some of her findings and the opinions and data she shared.
Overall, this experience is going to be fascinating and I look forward to occasionally documenting some of my experiences on this platform.
Odabo (Goodbye, speak soon).
